Robert “Bob” Ray Bennington

Wheelersburg-Robert “Bob” Ray Bennington, 80, of Wheelersburg passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his residence. Bob was born September 18, 1937 in Scioto County to the late Walter and Margaret Turner Bennington. Bob was employed by the former Empire Detroit Steel in the transportation dept.; he was a U.S. Army veteran; attended Pinkerman Community Church in South Webster and was a fifty year plus member of Western Sun Lodge #91. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Joseph Keith and Bill and two sisters, Leona Chase and Eva May. Bob is survived by a brother, Steve and two sisters, Gene Ziders and Linda Hobbins; nephew, Tate (Michale) Bennington and longtime friend, Lucille.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Merit Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, July 2, 2018 and one hour before the service on Tuesday. A Masonic service will be 8:00 pm Monday evening.
