Vernia Louise Kirkendall

Wheelersburg-Vernia Louise Kirkendall, 87, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her residence. Vernia was born December 17, 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Carl Walter and Ada Kay Smith Brickey. She had worked as a waitress at the former Frisch’s Restaurant. In addition to her parents, Vernia was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Washington Kirkendall, May 17, 1967 and a son, Daniel Leslie Kirkendall. Vernia is survived by a son, Carl (Marilyn) Kirkendall; two daughters, Carol Lockwood and Candy Kirkendall; three grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda) Kirkendall, Donna (Jamie) Holsinger and Carla Evans and five great grandchildren, Cody Holsinger, Ben Evans, Kirsten Evans, Domique Evans and Danika Kirkendall.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Cody Holsinger officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, October 29, 2018 and one hour before the service on Tuesday. Condolences may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
