David Howard

Franklin Furnace-David Howard, 85, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Best Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Wheelersburg. David was born July 3, 1933 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Alf and Pearlie Helton Howard. David was retired as an oiler with the operating engineers and was a member of the Local 18. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by four brothers, Loren, Sam, Norman and Earl Howard and three sisters, Ora Childers, Drusie Tackett and Virginia Montgomery. David is survived by his wife, Deloris Barnett Howard whom he married March 10, 1964 in Powellsville, Ohio. David is also survived by Frank and Linda Barnett, Rick and Pam Barnett, Jack and Lyda Scarberry, Don and Barb Phipps, Faye and the late Roy Jenkins and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Ed Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, January 6, 2019 and one hour before the service on Monday. Condolences may be made to the family at www.harrison-pyles.com.
