Dorothy Meade Hardin

PORTSMOUTH-Dorothy Meade Hardin, 89, of Portsmouth passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at SOMC-ER in Portsmouth. Dorothy was born February 4, 1933 in Salyersville, KY to the late John Cheek and Anna Lillian Bailey Cheek. Dorothy was employed as a cook at Wheelersburg Schools and also was a poll worker for many elections. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Gary Meade and a brother, Jack Cheek. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Carl J. Hardin whom she married February 14, 1990 in Flatwoods, KY. She is also survived by a son, Charles Gary Meade, II, (Tisha); two daughters, Debra L. (Joe) Bailey and Rebecca Jane Meade; three brothers, Conway, Kenneth and Teddy Cheek; three sisters, Margaret Fairchild, Mary Miller and Teresa Sloas; four grandchildren, Joshua D. Bailey, Kayla R. Bailey, Jared C. Meade and Jessica M. Meade and six great grandchildren.

Services for Dorothy will be 11:00 am Thursday, November, 3, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Vicki Bays officiating. Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022 and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Thursday.
