Lida Genevieve Laninga

PORTSMOUTH- Lida G. Turner Laninga departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, OH. Lida was born August 7, 1922, a daughter of Loren and Mabel Ray Turner in Byer, Ohio in Jackson County, the family moved to Scioto County in 1929. Lida was a homemaker for many years, and worked for the State of Ohio until retirement in 1977. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lodwick (David), two grandchildren, David C. Lodwick and Jeffrey DeMaria; five great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth Turner and Karl Turner; one sister, Vera Hutchison; a daughter-in-law, Diane Rase of Maryland and a step-son, Richard (Ruth) Laninga of Michigan. Lida was preceded in death by her husbands, her son, Edgar L. Rase, a daughter, Janet Demaria, a granddaughter, Aimee Lodwick, a brother, Ray Turner and two sisters, Agnes Logan and Ardena Callihan. Lida was a member of the Church of Christ in both Ohio and Florida.

Leaving Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home at 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2023 for an 11:30 am graveside service for Lida at South Webster Cemetery. Rev. John Gowdy will be officiating. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
