Janet Louise Bennett, 95, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born November 25, 1930, in Sciotoville, to the late Raymond and Leona Evans. She married the love of her life, James (Art) Bennett on September 17, 1948. They raised 5 children together. She retired from Krogers. Janet was a beautiful wife, loving mother, incredible grandmother, dutiful daughter, mischievous sister, and fun aunt. She loved Jesus, life, her family, extended family, and friends. Her love was never ending, her laugh contagious, and her corrections stern. She loved music, dancing, reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She will forever be in our hearts. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, James Jr. of North Carolina, Brian, of Cincinnati, daughter-n-law Nori Bennett of North Carolina; sisters Maxine Burton, Marilyn Throckmorton, Rosalee Chochard, and brothers Fred Evans, Ronald Evans, and Donald Evans. She is survived by son Roy (Ruth) Bennett of Wheelersburg, daughters Carol (Gary) Baker of Lucasville, and Diane (Tim) Boyer of London, and daughter-n-law Debbie Bennett of Cincinnati; grandchildren James Landers, Brooke Bennett, Amy Frazier, Aaron Bennett, Rebecca Surges, Brian Bennett, Jr., Christina Ackerson, Matthew Baker, Ricky Boyer, and Kelsi Tabler and 19 great grandchildren. Special extended family Carol (Buryl) Wheeler, Sandy (Donnie) Sheets, and Patti (Don) Kelley. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, her willingness to serve others, the love she shared, her laughter, the stories she told, and the unbreakable bond with her family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for their excellent care and dedication to her comfort and concern for the family. Services will be held at Harrison Pyles Funeral Home, 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday, October 2, 2026. Viewing will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m with funeral at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Bennett officiating. Committal service will be conducted at Memorial Burial Park, 10556 Gallia Pike Road, Wheelersburg, Ohio. A celebration of life dinner will follow after service at Welcome Home Christian Fellowship, 10073A US 23, Lucasville, Ohio. Family and friends are all welcome.
